Study affected after schoolgirls fainted at school

Doti.

There is a problem of fainting among the students studying at Jhimemalika Secondary School in KI Singh Gaupalika-4 of Doti.

Twelve students in grades 6, 7 and 8 have been suffering from headache, dizziness and fainting for about a month now.

"We tried a lot, checked their health, prayed at a nearby temple, asked Dhamijhankri," said Veer Khadka, chairman of the school management committee. "But their problems have not been cured." According to Khadka, the students used to tremble and faint after entering the school but recovered on their own after returning from school.

The school has hired a health worker after such a problem. Health workers have not been able to find out about the problem seen in the students. "Only those 12 students are fainting," says Chairman Khadka. "The number has not increased or decreased for a month."

He said that he had called the parents of the students and advised them to get treatment. He said, "We have asked them not to come to school for a few days as the education of other students will deteriorate after they are in school."

According to Bhishma Raj Pandey, in-charge of Durgamandao Health Post, Vail, they have problems like Max Conversion Disorder. He said they needed comfort because it was a mental illness.

Pandey says that the problem can be solved by increasing the morale of the students through psycho-social discussions.

Although the problem was seen after going to school, the students say that they are completely healthy after returning home.
