The foundation stone of the second cable car has been laid in Butwal. Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel has laid the foundation stone of Siddhartha Kevulkar, which runs from Butwal Sub-Metropolis-1 (shift Butwal) to Palpa's Nuwakot Dando.
Earlier, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had laid the foundation stone of Lumbini Kevulkar in Butwal on March 20. The goal is to bring Kevulkar into operation within 18 months.
It is estimated to cost Rs 800 million to build a two-kilometer long cable car, said Rajendra Singh Gurung, chairman of Siddhartha Kevlakar Pralika. The Siddhartha Kevulkar Company has an investment of 50 people including hoteliers and land businessmen of Butwal.
Chairman Gurung said that the 25-coach cable car can reach Nuwakot in 8 minutes from Deurali Danda of Butwal. Siddhartha Kevulkar Pvt. Ltd. had started the process of construction of Cable car in 2068 BS.
The cabinet meeting had given approval to operate 3.98 hectare forest area in July 2075 BS and 2.118 hectare forest area in February 2076 BS for 30 years.
