India has imposed an indefinite ban on vaccine exports against the corona virus (Covid-19).
As the second phase of the wave has started recently, the export of vaccines has been temporarily halted saying that vaccines may be needed in India.
According to the BBC, all exports of Oxford-Astragene vaccine have been banned, according to an Indian Foreign Ministry source.
India's decision is expected to affect about 190 countries under the Kovacs scheme. And, it could affect the vaccination campaign in Nepal as well.
India has so far exported more than 60 million vaccines to 76 countries, most of them are Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccines.
