Kathmandu.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that he will now convene a meeting of the former CPN-UML. At a meeting of the parliamentary parties convened in Baluwatar on Sunday, Oli said the UML meeting would be held as per the decision of the Supreme Court.
‘Even if the court gives Rishi Kattel the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN), politically it will take the country on the right course. Now, a meeting of the CPN-UML will be held, ”said a leader who attended the meeting, quoting the Prime Minister.
Oli also said that a decision on the new political course would be taken at a meeting of the UML party in a few days. Oli also said that a special decision will be taken about the elected parliamentarians by becoming the CPN (Maoist) candidate in the National Assembly.
He said that the special decision was to introduce a new bill to protect the members of the National Assembly, the House of Representatives, the State Assembly and the representatives who won the by-elections at the local level. He also said that his government was now united as it did not recognize the unity of the CPN (Maoist).
‘If the Maoist center withdraws its support, a vote of confidence will have to be taken. I’ll take that within a month ’, Oli said. Sunday's meeting was not called a meeting of the UML.
All the lawmakers were called as the court decision came during the party process. Now, only those who want to join the UML from the UCPN (Maoist) center and UML MPs will meet, said Oli.
