At least 23 Taliban fighters have been killed in an operation by military fighter jets against Taliban fighters hiding in the Qaisar and Almar districts of Afghanistan's northern province of Faryab, the army's spokesman for the northern region, Mohammad Hanif Rezai, said on Thursday.
Seven other Taliban fighters were wounded in the operation. Taliban militants, active in Faryab province, have not commented.
