Germany to provide 10 million Euro grant to Nepal

Kathmandu. 

Germany will provide a grant of 10 million Euros for green recovery and inclusive development of Nepal.

An agreement in this regard has been signed between the Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Finance Shrikrishna Nepal and the German Ambassador to Nepal Ronald Seifer.

It will help policy and the public sector to expand grid-connected solar farms, expand solar irrigation and expand other activities.

The assistance will be focused on rural Nepal. "Through today's assistance, Germany has expressed solidarity with Nepal in the face of economic challenges and has supported Germany's global efforts to address the challenges posed by climate change," said Seifer, Germany's ambassador to Nepal.

According to him, energy is an important element for economic growth but the energy sector is emitting greenhouse gases. All countries need to come together to meet this global challenge.
