Today, Judgment in the dispute over 'CPN' Name

Kathmandu.

The Supreme Court is delivering its verdict on the writ petition filed against the name of the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) on Sunday. The Supreme Court had decided to rule on the dispute over the name of the CPN (Maoist) on Falgun 20. However, the hearing was adjourned after the court adjourned on Thursday to mourn the death of former Chief Justice Surendra Prasad Singh.

Rishi Kattel had filed a writ petition two years ago alleging that he had given KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' names to match his party. The hearing of the case against the Election Commission was concluded on Falgun 13. A final bench of Justices Bam Kumar Shrestha and Kumar Regmi heard the case.

A writ petition was filed in the Supreme Court on 2075 Mangsir 21 against the decision to register the CPN (Maoist) chaired by Oli-Prachanda. Kattel has even asked for a definition of the CPN in bracket.
