Two workers working on the tunnel route of the Madhya tamor Hydropower Project under construction on the Tamor River in Taplejung have been killed after a rock fell on them.
The deceased have been identified as Amar Bishwakarma, 22, of Udaipur and Santosh Bania, 28, of Bhojpur. Karan Gautam, who was working inside the tunnel, was killed on the spot when a rock fell on him at around 2 pm today.
They were working inside the outlet tunnel leading from Thumba to Mitlung. According to the District Police Office, Taplejung, the incident is being investigated.
