Four arrested with 2.5 kg uranium


Kathmandu. 

Four persons have been arrested with 2.5 kg of uranium. Narayan Singh Tamang, 40, of Likhu Tamakoshi Village Gaupalika-5 of Ramechhap, Januka Tamang; a 40-year-old from the same place now lives in Bouddha, Kathmandu; Prakash Chauhan, 20, of Bagjor Municipality-4 of Ramechhap; And Manoj Neupane, 20, of Sunkoshi-4, Sindhuli.


The Metropolitan Police Office, Ranipokhari, said in a press conference on Friday that they were arrested from the Bouddha area.




According to AIG Hari Bahadur Pal, this is the first case of uranium being confiscated in Nepal.


He said that the confiscated items were confirmed tested to be uranium.


Police said that they would be prosecuted as per the Explosives Act.
