The government has increased the prices of cooking gas and petroleum products. The retail price of petrol, diesel and kerosene has been increased by Rs 2 per liter with effect from 12 noon on Wednesday, according to the Nepal Oil Corporation.
Now, the price of petrol in Kathmandu has reached Rs 112 and diesel /
kerosene Rs 95. The price of LP gas has also gone up to Rs 1,400 per cylinder.
The corporation has increased the price by Rs 25 per cylinder. The price of
cooking gas has gone up after one year.
The price of aviation fuel has been kept unchanged at present, said Binit
Mani Upadhyaya, spokesperson of the corporation.
The corporation still has a loss of Rs 5.16 per liter on petrol, Rs 3.01
per liter on diesel and Rs 295.83 per cylinder on LP gas. Accordingly, the
corporation has stated that its loss will be Rs. 73.87 crore in 15 days.
Upadhyaya said that the supply system of petroleum products will be
facilitated by managing from the stabilization fund and the accumulated profit
of the corporation.
