Chinese President Xi Jinping is scheduled to visit India soon after tensions between the two countries have eased. Xi will be attending the BRICS summit in Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.
It is India's turn to hold the conference this year and China has agreed to it. The Chinese Foreign Ministry said it would assist India in hosting the conference and would not be affected by the ongoing border dispute. Earlier, India had hosted the BRICS conference in 2016.
